Celebrating Women's History Month from Luangisa African Gallery
We are so excited to be giving away two products from Luangisa -- made by women artisans in Africa.
Incredibly, the Tonga Baskets are handwoven from Ilala palm fibers by women artisans for two weeks from the Northern Zimbabwe’s Zambezi Valley. This provides a sustainable source of income for their families. We work directly with a group of Tonga master craft women to bring you the finest baskets that are all unique and special to be displayed and showcased.
The beautiful Juju Hats are handmade by the Bamileke women in West Cameroon that are a symbol of prosperity and divinity in Bamileke culture. Made from natural or dyed chicken feathers, the hats are stitched into a raffia basket, creating an elaborate headdress that was sacred to the Bamilek and comes in a variety of colors.
Both are truly special, unique, and items to be treasured forever!
